I am a former community college professor with over 10 years of teaching experience. I taught general biology (majors and non-majors), cell biology, anatomy and physiology, developmental/remedial biology, animal science, and biotechnology courses. During this time, I received multiple awards including the Excellence in Education in Innovative Teaching and Learning Award from the Virginia Community College System, the Virginia Math and Science Coalition Programs that Work Award, and the Virginia Western Teaching Excellence Award. Currently, I am a lab manager in a cancer biology lab, but miss I teaching. While in graduate school, I tutored and enjoyed the process immensely and hope to get back into it!

Hobbies
In addition to having a love of all things science, I am an avid baker and enjoy trying new recipes (thank you Great British Bake Off!) and breads are my favorite. I also enjoy reading, watching tv, and running when I can. My husband and I have 1 dog and 4 cats. I love volunteering at my local animal shelter and working with animals to help them get adopted.
